Our Care Under Covid

The safety of our patients is a top priority for our staff. We have been a leader in implementing systems and processes that assure that we deliver high-quality, safe care for those in our facilities during this worldwide pandemic. NOTE: Our facility does not administer the Covid-19 vaccine to non-residents and patients. Please contact a private doctors’ office, the local health department clinic, an urgent care clinic, or a local pharmacy.

  • Requiring all patients and staff to wear face coverings
  • Following physical distancing protocols
  • We have hired a team of infection control nurses
  • Screening all patients and residents for Covid-19 symptoms upon arrival
  • Regularly testing our staff for Covid-19
  • Implementing strict isolation practices to separate Covid-19 patients and residents from others

What to Expect During Your Visit

Indoor Visits for Non-Covid Patients & Residents

While outdoor and virtual visits remain the safest option, indoor visits are available for any resident not under a transmission-based quarantine. NOTE: Compassionate visits for Covid-impacted residents and patients by designated essential caregivers remain available option.

Outdoor Facility Visits & Extended Outings

Outings, such as church attendance and non-essential medical appointments, are permissible for non-quarantined residents. Furthermore, the prior requirement to quarantine upon return has been lifted — unless the resident has had a known exposure to Covid-19 while on the outing.

After each visit, the space will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, with an emphasis on frequently touched surfaces per CDC guidelines. We appreciate your support and patience as we operate in these difficult times.

COVID-19 Test Results At Our Facility: Phase 3

An active Covid-19 case in our facility triggers the start of what we call Phase 3 of our management plan. It calls for even more frequent screenings and increased monitoring for signs and symptoms of respiratory disease among our residents and staff — multiple times per day. We must enact strict enforcement of Covid screenings and temporarily prohibit visitation for everyone’s safety.

Ongoing Caregiver and/or Family Notifications

You, as the resident’s essential caregiver, will be notified immediately if a loved one is symptomatic and is being tested or being isolated out of caution due to their roommate’s health concern. Rest assured we will remain in contact with you regarding any changes to Phase 3 processes. That said, our Resident Ambassadors will NOT be notifying you of additional cases, unless they involve your loved one or their roommate.

How to Protect Yourself from Covid-19

The CDC continues to state that the best ways to avoid getting respiratory viruses are frequent hand washing and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. The Coronavirus and the Influenza virus are spread by droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. Their droplets land inside the mouths or noses of nearby people and on surrounding surfaces. Persons become infected when they either breathe in these droplets, or touch contaminated surfaces then touch their eyes, nose, and mouth.
